Meet the Artist

stephanie erdmann holding fish

Based in Great Falls, Montana, Stephanie Erdmann is a self-taught watercolor artist known for showing the softer side of immersing in nature, often portraying the sport of fishing and what the river brings to inspire creativity. Drawing inspiration from her outdoor adventures—fishing and exploring—her layered transparent washes capture the vibrancy and connection she finds in the natural world.

Using layers of transparent paint, she conveys the passion of our actions within our natural surroundings, especially of the fly-fishing experience—transforming the act of catching a prized trout into a moment of connection and splendor.

Education & Craftsmanship
Stephanie began painting alongside her mother, who introduced her to watercolor years ago. Since then, as a self-taught painter, she’s honed her technique through curious inquisition and dedicated practice, developing a style marked by translucent layering, precise detail and beautiful colors.
